Hello, fellow Salesforce Folks! I am excited to share my journey of stepping into the world of Salesforce without any prior knowledge of coding or any CRM software. It was like diving into uncharted waters, but oh, what an adventure it turned out to be!
- The Initial Spark:
Not too long ago, the term “Salesforce” was a mystery to me. All of that changed when I joined the incredible team at Apexchamps, which introduced me to a new world of possibilities.
- Starting from Ground Zero:
Honestly, I must say that starting from zero was scary. It all began with attending Daily classes, Weekly quizzes, and Hands-on exercises, which became my go-to activities. Lastly, Trailhead [It’s the fantastic free learning hub by Salesforce, perfect for beginners like me] became the crown jewel in the picture. I continuously engaged with Trailhead, earning rewards such as Badges, Points, and Trailmixes.
In the end, all of these experiences provided me with an eye-opening journey that set the stage for my transformative journey.
“Let’s Explore Trailhead & make your hands dirty!”
- Learning Curve & Growth:
Learning was truly like Climbing a mountain! Everything was going well for a few days. Amidst my Salesforce journey, I faced demotivation due to factors like a lack of motivation, job opportunities and consistency. Then, I took a short break to refresh my mind and came back rejuvenated. Eventually, my first significant milestone was achieving my Salesforce Associate Certificate
Each time, I understood something new — Data Modeling, Data Security, UI Customization, and more! It felt like winning a mini battle, and I became hooked on learning more and more.
- Embracing the Community:
I should say, ‘The best part of my journey!’ My awesome Salesforce Community [LinkedIn Family], engaging with new people, and attending ‘Salesforce Developer Days’ meets. It was like finding a bunch of friends who had been through what I was experiencing in this jungle of the Salesforce Ecosystem.
- Putting Knowledge into Practice:
Things really started to click when I decided to put what I learned into action. Working on small projects [especially real-time projects], helping friends, seeking solutions & gaining hands-on experience made everything clearer. It showed me the incredible power of Salesforce solutions.
- Overcoming Challenges & Celebrating Success:
Of course, it wasn’t all smooth sailing. I faced a lot of challenges, hit roadblocks, and encountered errors. But guess what? Each stumble taught me something new. Finally, when I nailed an automated tricky process, the feeling was incredible.
Surprisingly, the rewards from Trailhead i.e., Superbadges, Badges and Points — motivated me to run fast, faster and fastest….
- Tips for Beginners:
To anyone starting their Salesforce journey: Take it easy on yourself, keep at it, and never hesitate to ask for help from the Salesforce Gang. Dive into Trailhead, get your hands dirty with Hands-on Exercises, Trailmixes, Superbadges and remember: “Errors are just climbing rocks to become a pro developer!“

My journey to Salesforce, starting from scratch, has been mind-blowing. It taught me that with a lot of dedication and a supportive community, you can conquer even the most complicated tasks.
